About this word search

A Herald carried messages and announced knights at tournaments, and over time heralds became experts on coats of arms, which is why their study is called heraldry. The Minstrel and the Jester provided the entertainment in the Great hall, while the Blacksmith kept armour and horseshoes in repair.

Medieval words in this grid can be laid out in all eight directions, including backwards. Lady-in-waiting appears as one string, LADYINWAITING. Portcullis, with its double L, and Chivalry, with its V and Y, give the eye something firm to catch on.

History teachers might have pairs of students split the twenty-eight words between the castle walls and the people inside them, then argue over the borderline cases.
