About this word search

Several pairs on this list sit close together but mean different things: Worried and Anxious, Delighted and Joyful, Bored and Restless. Talking through the difference with older children and teenagers helps them describe exactly what is going on, which matters when they need to ask for help.

Feelings in this large grid may be written forwards, in reverse, upright or on a slant. Enthusiastic and Overwhelmed are the longest. The double R in Embarrassed and Worried, and the X in Excited and Anxious, are good places to begin.

In a wellbeing lesson, students can rank a handful of these words from mild to intense, then share one thing that helps them settle when a strong feeling shows up.
