Deleting your account

Your data is yours. Inside the app you can remove it yourself in a few taps, and if you no longer have the app, we’ll do it for you.

In the app

Gone in three steps

The quickest route, and final straight away. You do not need to email us for this.

  1. Open the settings

    Tap the cog at the top of the app.

  2. Choose Delete account

    The link sits at the bottom, under Account. If you also play Mio Path or SudoMio, you first choose whether everything should go or only your Words with Mia progress.

  3. Confirm with a word

    You type out your username, so it can never happen by accident. After that it is done straight away and it cannot be undone.

Without the app

App already gone? Email us

Email us from the address you signed in with, or tell us your username in the game. We’ll delete your data within thirty days and let you know once it’s done. We’ll never ask you for a password.

What happens

What goes, and what stays

This goes

  • Your progress, your stamps and your Sparky
  • Your username, which becomes available to someone else again
  • Your friends and your times on the leaderboard
  • Your profile, your frames and your portraits

This stays

  • Your purchases live with Apple or Google, not with us. Use Restore purchases to bring them back on a new profile.
  • A running subscription does not stop here by itself. Cancel it in the App Store or Google Play, otherwise it keeps going.
  • If you choose Words with Mia only, your account, your name and your other Mio & friends games simply stay.
