About this word search
Small children tend to understand Valentine's Day as a day for being kind, and these ten words fit that idea. Hug, Card and Gift are things they can give or make for someone else, which gives the puzzle a gentle purpose.
Settle in beside your child and say the ten words slowly, one by one. Pick Red first, since it has only three letters, and trace the rows with a finger from left to right. If it is not there, try the columns from top to bottom. No word hides any other way.
Then fold a piece of paper into a card, draw a heart on the front and copy one word from the list inside for a grandparent or a friend.
