About this word search
Young children notice spring through small things: a Bud on a branch, a Bee on the clover, a Nest high up in a gum tree. These ten words follow that eye for detail, and nearly all of them are short enough to sound out letter by letter.
Read each word with your child and clap once for every sound. Then search the rows from left to right, and after that the columns from top to bottom. Every word lies one of those two ways, so the search stays simple.
Afterwards, sow a pinch of seeds in an old yoghurt tub and keep a picture diary of what pushes up over the following weeks.
