About this word search

Cupid comes from Roman mythology, where he was the son of Venus, the goddess of love, and his arrows were said to make people fall for each other. The rest of the list is more down to earth: a Postbox, an Envelope, a Compliment, and Lovebirds, which are small parrots as well as a nickname for a couple.

Entries may point any of eight ways on this sheet, reversed ones among them. Bouquet is a good first target because of its Q, a letter that turns up nowhere else on the list. Secret admirer and Love letter are long strings without spaces, so once you spot an opening letter, follow every direction until the line breaks.

As a February activity in aged care, the list can also bring up stories of old courtships and letters sent long ago.
