About this word search

The Mayflower crossed the Atlantic in 1620, and the harvest meal the settlers shared with the Wampanoag the following year is often called the first Thanksgiving. Cornucopia, the horn of plenty, comes from Latin and has stood for a good harvest for a very long time.

In this grid, words go forward, backward and on all four diagonals. Cornucopia and Cranberry sauce are good anchors because they are long. The P in Pecan pie and the V in Gravy boat stand out. Thursday and November sit in the list too, a reminder of when the holiday falls.

Teenagers waiting for the turkey to rest can race a parent, each working from opposite ends of the list.
