About this word search
Several of these words come in pairs that young children can match up. A Hen sits on a Nest, a Chick hatches from an Egg, and a Lamb follows its mother across the field. Lamb ends in a silent b, which is worth pointing out before your child starts looking for it.
In this small grid the words lie flat in rows or hang straight down in columns. Begin with the three-letter ones, Egg and Hen, since short words are quick wins and keep a beginning reader going. Easter and Basket are the longest words here and usually the last to be found.
When the puzzle is done, cut out a paper egg for every word, let your child copy the word onto it and decorate it however they like.
