About this word search
A windy day is a good day for a Kite, and Wind and Kite are both in this puzzle, along with Rain and Fog. Talk about the weather outside before you start, and let your child guess which of these words fits today.
None of the ten words is hidden on a slant or backwards. Owl and Fog are the shortest, three letters each, so let your child find those first. With Apple, point out that the two p's sit side by side, which makes it easier to follow along the row.
Bring a small bag on your next walk and collect a leaf, an acorn and anything else from the list you can find. Back home, lay each one next to its word on the page.
