About this word search
Basket, Nest and Egg belong together the way they do on Easter morning, when children search the yard with a basket over one arm. Saying those three aloud before you start gives a young reader a small story to hold on to.
Show how each word reads only rightward along a row or downward in a column, and nowhere else. Start with Easter, the longest, because six letters in a row are easier to see than three. Tulip makes a good second. Then go back for the tiny words like Hen and Egg.
Coloring the finished page with crayons, one color per word, makes the whole grid look a bit like a decorated egg.
