About this word search
Most young children already know these animals from books and soft toys, which helps when the letters are still new. Llama, with its double L, and Zebra, with its unusual Z, are often the first two a child recognises on the page.
Here the names lie flat or hang straight down, nothing more. Point to the first word and say each letter together, then hunt for that letter in the grid. When you find it, check the square to its right and the square below. If the word is there, one of them will hold the next letter.
On your next zoo trip, bring the printed sheet and tick off each animal as you pass its enclosure.
