About this word search

Lacrosse is one of the oldest team sports in North America, played by Indigenous nations long before Europeans arrived. Kickball, on the other hand, is a schoolyard game most American kids know from recess, played like baseball with a big rubber ball.

Many entries are joined pairs, such as TABLETENNIS, WATERPOLO, POLEVAULT and LONGJUMP, and any of them may run backwards or slant in this eighteen-row grid. Rugby and Relay are short and hide well among the long ones.

During a big tournament, families can keep the sheet on the coffee table and circle each sport as it comes on TV. Older kids can then rank the list by which ones they would actually try, from Surfing to Fencing.
