About this word search
Young children often meet Anzac Day through a short service at school or the sight of people marching with medals. These ten words describe what they might see and hear, and give a calm way to talk about it.
Explain in plain words that on 25 April people remember soldiers, nurses and others who went to war, and that not all of them came home. Many people wear a red Poppy to show they remember. Keep your answers short and honest when questions come.
Read each word together and look for it along a row from left to right or down a column from top to bottom. Remember is the longest of the ten. Afterwards, a child might like to draw a poppy or a wreath.
