About this word search

This list follows Australian service across more than a century. Anzac Cove on the Gallipoli peninsula and the Western Front in France and Belgium belong to the First World War, the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea to the Second, and Peacekeepers to the decades since. The Light Horse, the Slouch hat and the Rising sun badge are part of how many Australians picture those who served.

At a dawn service, the Ode of Remembrance is read and answered with Lest we forget, followed by the Last Post, a minute of Silence and Reveille. Older students can research one name from a local War memorial or Cenotaph and share that person's story with the class.

Words can run in all eight directions here, reversed ones included. Ode of Remembrance is the longest entry. Work through the sheet calmly and without hurry.
