About this word search
Anzac Day on 25 April remembers the Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in war. It began with the landing at Gallipoli in 1915, and the word Anzac comes from the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Today the day honours everyone who has served, including those in peacekeeping.
Several words on this list describe the order of a dawn service: the Last Post on the Bugle, a minute of Silence, the laying of a Wreath. Talking these through before or after a school service helps children understand what they saw and heard. Rosemary is worn because it grows wild on the Gallipoli peninsula.
In this grid, words lie flat, upright or on a slope, always reading forwards. Lest we forget appears as one line of letters. Take it slowly and leave space for questions.
