About this word search

Kumquat comes from Cantonese, Lychee comes from Chinese as well, and Satsuma is named after a former province in the south of Japan. Damson takes its name from Damascus. Fruit names travel almost as far as the fruit itself.

This fruit bowl is eighteen squares wide and spills over in every direction, backwards included. Pomegranate, Passion fruit and Blackcurrant are long and good places to start. The Q in Kumquat and Quince and the Y in Physalis and Papaya stand out quickly.

Older children and adults can count afterwards how many of the twenty-eight they have actually tasted. Physalis and Persimmon tend to divide the room.
