About this word search

Concord grape is named for Concord, Massachusetts, where it was developed in the nineteenth century, and it is the grape behind a lot of American grape juice and jelly. Persimmon and Huckleberry grow wild in parts of North America too.

In a grid this large, start with the rare letters. Kumquat has both a K and a Q, and Physalis opens with the unusual PHY. Passion fruit and Dragon fruit share FRUIT at the end, so look at how each one begins. Every entry may also appear reversed or diagonal.

Older students can sort the list by color, or by whether the fruit grows on a tree, a bush or a vine. Rhubarb, strictly a vegetable, makes a good trick question.
