About this word search

This list mixes very different kinds of words. Teleport and Levitate are verbs, Justice and Courage are abstract ideas, and Rooftop and Skyscraper are places. That makes it a useful vocabulary exercise for middle school as well as a puzzle.

Words run in all eight directions on this eighteen-row board, backwards too. SECRETIDENTITY and SUPERSTRENGTH are long strings without spaces. X-ray vision holds the only X on the list, which makes it a quick first find.

For a creative writing unit, students can choose five words from the list and build a one-page story around them, with at least one place, one idea and one power.
