About this word search

Nemesis comes from the Greek goddess of retribution, and in comics it means a hero's greatest enemy. A Catchphrase and an Emblem help make a character recognisable at a glance.

The comic book hero grew hugely popular in America from the late 1930s, and many of the conventions on this list, from the Sidekick to the Secret identity, were fixed in those early years.

Secret identity and Super strength are the longest. Every direction is in play across this eighteen by eighteen grid. The X in X-ray vision and the Q in Headquarters are rare letters that stand out.
