About this word search

This list spans five centuries of art. Da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael stand for the Renaissance, Caravaggio and Rubens for the Baroque, and Renoir and Cézanne for late nineteenth century France. Sargent and Whistler were Americans who spent much of their careers in Europe.

Every direction counts in this grid, backwards too. Michelangelo and Impressionism are the longest words and the natural place to begin. Frida Kahlo is written as one string, so look for the K and H sitting close together.

For an art appreciation group or a book club, each member can pick a movement from the list and bring one image to discuss at the next meeting.
