About this word search

Ulaanbaatar is often called the coldest national capital in the world, and Samarkand was a major stop on the Silk Road. Kathmandu sits in a high valley below the Himalayas, and Reykjavik is the northernmost capital of a sovereign state.

Reversed and slanted names are mixed in with the straight ones. Begin with Ulaanbaatar, which has two separate double A pairs, and the long entries written without spaces, such as Mexico City, San Francisco and Buenos Aires.

Seasoned travelers can circle the cities they have visited and compare notes over coffee afterward. Those who have stayed closer to home can pick the one they would most like to see.

Ways to use this word search

  • With your coffee

Print a sheet for a quiet moment at the kitchen table or in your armchair. Start with the regular version and save the hard one for when you really have time for it.

  • On the go

  • Puzzle together
