About this word search

This list travels through centuries of European art, from Da Vinci and Michelangelo in the Renaissance to the bold blocks of Mondrian and the dream images of Dalí. Pointillism, the technique of building a picture from tiny dots, is linked above all with Georges Seurat.

Words face all eight directions, so some must be read backwards. Short names like Dalí and Rubens hide easily, which makes the long ones such as Impressionism and Michelangelo a better place to begin. Self-portrait loses its hyphen in the grid.

An art class or gallery group could follow up by choosing one movement from the list and bringing along a postcard or print that shows it.
