About this word search
Old MacDonald had most of these on his farm. Sing a verse for each animal before you start, and young children will already know half the words by heart when they look at the grid.
Only two directions are used in this little grid, rightward along a row and downward along a column. Help your child find the C of Cow, then move a finger one square right and one square down to see where the O is. That small habit works for every word on the list.
Then talk about where each thing comes from. The Egg comes from the Hen, the Hay feeds the Goat and the Lamb, and the Mud is there for the Pig to enjoy.
