About this word search
Short country names make this a gentle introduction to a map of Europe. Spain, Italy and Wales are five letters each, manageable for young readers who are still sounding words out.
There are no diagonal or reversed words in this grid, only rows and columns. Read each name aloud first, then look for its first letter and follow along with a finger. Scotland is the longest at eight letters.
Afterward, find each country on a map or globe. Italy is easy to spot, since it is shaped like a boot, and children love finding Ireland and Scotland as islands and edges on the far side.
