About this word search

The Trillium has been Ontario's official flower since the 1930s, and its three white petals carpet the forest floor in late April and May. Further east, spring means sugaring season, when cold nights and mild days get the sap running and families head to a cabane à sucre for Maple syrup poured over pancakes.

Equinox is the best place to start, because the X is rare in English and stands out in any direction. Community garden is the longest entry and stretches across most of the grid. Remember that words may run backwards here, so Tadpole might appear as ELOPDAT.

This list suits a science class on life cycles, from Frogspawn to Tadpole and from Seedling to Sprout. After the puzzle, ask students to sort the words into stages of growth.
