About this word search
Toboggan came into English through Canadian French and goes back further to an Indigenous language of the east coast. Toque is another word that came straight from French. Both sit on this list next to Snowplow, Salt truck and Black ice, the less pretty side of the season.
The Q in Toque is a good first target, and the double g in Toboggan helps too. Snowball fight is the longest entry, with no spaces in the grid. Words can run backwards and on the diagonal, so look in every direction around a letter before moving on.
Around December 21 comes the Solstice, when daylight is at its lowest point of the year. A long puzzle like this one fits well in those dark late afternoons when it feels like midnight by five o'clock.
