About this word search

Equinox comes from the Latin for equal night, and the spring equinox around 20 March is the point where day and night are roughly the same length. Daylight is on the list too, along with March and April, so the puzzle keeps half an eye on the calendar.

Other words come straight from the British countryside: Frogspawn, Catkins, Bluebell and Allotment. With eighteen squares a side and words in every direction, look first for the rare letters, such as the Q in Equinox, the K in Catkins and the Y in Ladybird.

Older pupils can turn the list into a seasonal timeline afterwards, putting Snowdrop, Frogspawn, Tadpole and Bluebell in the order they usually appear.
