About this word search

Australian roads have their own vocabulary, and this list uses it. A Divided road is what some countries call a dual carriageway, Kerb keeps its British spelling, and the Green man tells pedestrians when it is safe to walk.

Words run in all eight directions, so some read backwards. Parking inspector and School crossing are long strings without spaces. Hi-vis vest drops its hyphen and becomes HIVISVEST, which looks odd at first but is easy to spot once you know.

Before the bike safety test, ask students to explain what a Level crossing, a Speed bump and a Bus lane mean for someone on two wheels.
