About this word search
Hop is the shortest word here and also an instruction, so your child can do it the moment it is found. Tag, Kite and Bike name things they already know from the park or the backyard, while Swing and Slide begin with the same letter and need a closer look.
Words only travel across and downwards. Point to each word in the list, say it together, and then go hunting. If your child finds an S, ask whether the next letter is W, L or A to tell Swing, Slide and Sand apart.
Afterwards, grab some chalk and draw a hopscotch grid on the footpath or driveway.
