About this word search
Torch is a lovely word to explain. Before the Games begin, the Olympic flame is carried from runner to runner, and young children enjoy acting out the hand-over with a rolled-up paper torch.
Words go only across or down, which keeps the search manageable for small children. Start with Run and Win, the two shortest words, then try Rings, which has an S at the end that is easy to miss.
Make a paper medal together afterwards and award it to whoever found the most words, or to everyone who had a go. Hang it on a ribbon so it looks like the real thing.
