About this word search
Birds are a lovely topic for young children because they can see them every day, on the fence, on the footpath or at the park. Nest, Egg, Wing and Beak are here too, so the list covers both the birds and the parts of a bird.
Read the ten words together, clapping the beats in each one. Next, help your child spot the O of Owl and check whether the W follows on its right or underneath it. Birds in this little grid only ever fly those two ways, so small eyes can stay on one row or one column at a time.
When you are done, draw a bird together and label its beak and wings with words from the grid.
