About this word search

Reykjavik is the most northerly capital of any country, and Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia is usually named the coldest. Between those extremes lie Samarkand, once a stop on the Silk Road, and Kyoto, home to Japan's emperors for more than a thousand years.

Budapest was formed in 1873, when Buda and Pest, on opposite banks of the Danube, were joined into a single city.

In an eighteen by eighteen grid with all eight directions open, a name can just as easily run backwards. SANFRANCISCO and ULAANBAATAR are long and stand out quickly. Seoul and Kyoto have only five letters and are easy to pass over.
