About this word search
Not every summer day is spent at the beach, and a ten-word puzzle is a handy thing to have when it rains in the holidays. Sun, Hot, Hat and Ice are three letters each, so even children who have only just started reading can find a few on their own.
Each word reads from left to right or from top to bottom. Show your child how to slide a finger along a row until the first letter turns up, then check whether the next letters follow. Beach and Shade are the longest here, at five letters.
When the search is over, ask which of the ten things they would most like to do tomorrow, and draw it together.
