About this word search
Hat, Scarf, Coat and Boots are words a young child hears every winter morning before leaving the house, so they are a natural place to start reading.
In this ten by ten grid every word runs left to right or top to bottom. Sledge is the longest, and it begins with an S just like Snow and Scarf, so children have to check the second letter to tell them apart. Ice and Hat are three letters each and make good first finds.
After the puzzle, get dressed for outside together and name each item as it goes on. A mug of cocoa on the way back in makes the tenth word real.
