About this word search

These twenty-eight words span from Homer to Hemingway. Chaucer wrote The Canterbury Tales in the fourteenth century, Cervantes wrote Don Quixote, and Tolkien was a professor of Old English before The Hobbit appeared. The first Pulitzer Prize for a novel went out in 1918.

This grid sends words in every direction, some of them reversed. Shakespeare and Alliteration are long and good places to start. Book club and Pulitzer Prize are written without spaces.

Readers can pick an author from the list they have never read and choose one book to try next. A book club can do the same for the coming season.
