About this word search
Six of these ten animals are spelled with just three letters, and most of them sound the way they look. That makes Cat, Pig and Fox good practice for a child in kindergarten who is starting to blend sounds into words.
Sit side by side and read the list together first, making the noise of each animal as you go. Then pick one word, put a fingertip on its first letter and move it rightward or downward. Words only travel those two ways on this small board, so there is no need to search anywhere else.
When the last one is circled, ask which of the ten your child has seen in real life and which only in books. The Lion and the Bear usually end up in the second pile.
