About this word search
In a Canadian winter, getting dressed to go out can take longer than the time spent outside. Hat, Scarf, Coat and Boots are all on this list, and naming each piece as it goes on can turn the routine into a small reading game.
The ten words go only across or down, so there is no need to look at a slant. Ice and Hat are the shortest words, and Cocoa has two c's and two o's, which make it stand out. Read the list aloud first, then let your child pick which word to hunt for next.
After the puzzle, draw a child in full winter gear and write each word next to the right piece of clothing.
