About this word search
Eel and Ray have only three letters, which makes them the hardest to spot, even for grown-ups. Leave them for the end and start with words that look different on the page, such as Whale or Shark.
Words in this ten by ten grid stick to two paths: along a row toward the right, or down a column. Before searching, talk through the animals one by one. Which has claws, which is the biggest, and which have you seen at an aquarium?
Then let your child find a first letter in the grid and follow it with a finger, to the right or down. A picture book about the sea makes a nice next step once all ten are found.
