About this word search
Eel and Ray are the shortest words here, three letters each, and they make a good first target for a brand-new reader. Shark and Whale take a little longer because of the SH and WH sounds at the start.
All the words go across or down, never on a slant. Help your child by reading the list aloud and then hunting for one letter at a time. A finger moving slowly along each row is easier to follow than eyes jumping around the page.
After a day at the beach, ask which of these creatures they saw, or which ones they would like to see one day from a safe distance.
