About this word search

Fortnight is a shortened form of fourteen nights, a word that is common in Britain and rare in America. Half term and Bank holiday are firmly British too.

A Leap year adds a day to February every four years, with a few exceptions for century years, to keep the calendar in step with the Earth's orbit. A Sundial and an Hourglass are older ways of measuring what a Stopwatch does now.

Millennium has a double L and a double N, a spelling many adults get wrong. In the eighteen-square grid words run in all directions, so start with Bank holiday and Millennium.
