About this word search

Quarter comes from the Latin for a fourth, and Decimal from the Latin for a tenth. Dozen goes back through French to the Latin word for twelve. Maths vocabulary is full of these old roots.

Subtraction and Percentage are the longest and good anchors in an eighteen by eighteen grid that hides words in every direction. The Q in Quarter and the Z in Zero and Dozen stand out among the other letters.

For a maths lesson, ask pupils to write a sum for each word, using Plus, Minus, Equals and a number from the list.
