About this word search
Constable painted The Hay Wain on the River Stour, Turner chased storms and sunsets across the sea, and Hockney, born in Bradford, has painted both Yorkshire hills and Californian swimming pools. Together with Gainsborough they make four British painters in a grid shared with Monet, Picasso and two Dutchmen, Rembrandt and Van Gogh.
GAINSBOROUGH is twelve letters and the longest name, so it is quick to find. Van Gogh and Still life lose their spaces and become VANGOGH and STILLLIFE, with three L's in a row. Words go forwards only, across, down or diagonally.
A puzzle like this suits a gallery café or a quiet afternoon after a visit. When it is done, pick a Portrait or a Landscape you remember and describe it to the others without naming the painter.
