About this word search

Fahrenheit is the scale on most American thermometers, and on it water freezes at thirty-two degrees and boils at two hundred twelve. Meteorologist comes from a Greek word meaning high in the air.

In a grid of eighteen rows where words can run in reverse or on any diagonal, the joined entries are worth extra attention. WEATHERVANE and RAINGAUGE are printed as single strings, so there is no gap to help you find the break.

Older students can build a simple Rain gauge from a clear jar and a ruler and keep a log for a month, using words from the list in their notes. In much of the central US, Tornado and Blizzard are not just vocabulary but part of the school safety drill.
