About this word search

The Orca, despite the old nickname killer whale, is the largest member of the dolphin family. Male Humpback whales sing long, complex songs, and the whales in one ocean region tend to share the same tune, which slowly changes over the years.

With words running in all eight directions across eighteen by eighteen squares, start with the longest entries. HUMPBACKWHALE and KELPFOREST are printed without spaces. Be careful with the five entries that begin with SEA, because those three letters tell you little until you check what follows.

Sea otters float on their backs and use stones to crack open shellfish, which older kids tend to find more impressive than any shark. Let them pick one animal from the list and look up one surprising fact to share with the class.
