About this word search

This list moves past counting into math vocabulary. Fraction, Decimal and Percentage turn up in upper elementary math, and Subtraction and Multiply sit alongside the plain number words. Ninety-nine and Forty-two lose their hyphens, so look for NINETYNINE as one unbroken block.

Reversed and slanting words share the big grid, and short entries such as Odd, Plus and Half are the hardest. Find the long ones first, then hunt for the small ones in the spaces left over.

Afterwards, students can turn the words into equations: double a dozen, take a quarter of a hundred, or work out what percentage of the list they found in ten minutes.

Ways to use this word search

  • In the classroom
