About this word search

Recorder and Ukulele will be familiar to many students, since both are common in elementary music rooms across Canada. Glockenspiel is German for bell play, and the xylo in Xylophone is Greek for wood.

Words can run backwards or diagonally in the eighteen by eighteen grid. Start with GLOCKENSPIEL and the X in XYLOPHONE, a rare letter that narrows the search quickly. Oboe, Tuba and Duet are only four letters each, so leave them for last.

Quarter note, Eighth note and Whole note link neatly to a lesson on reading rhythm, with the class clapping each value once it is found.
