About this word search

Everest is named after George Everest, a British surveyor in India, who reportedly objected to the honour. Sahara simply means deserts in Arabic, so the Sahara Desert is a bit of a repetition.

Latitude and Longitude are easy to mix up. Lines of latitude run east to west and measure how far north or south you are, while lines of longitude run from pole to pole.

North America and Mediterranean are the longest anchors in an eighteen-square grid with words in every direction. The J in Fjord and the Q in Earthquake stand out.
