About this word search
Birds are the living descendants of dinosaurs, so the sparrow at the feeder is a distant cousin of the Raptor on this list. Some raptor fossils even show signs that the animals had feathers.
This is the middle version: a grid of fourteen rows where words lie flat, stand upright or slant, but are never written backwards. Pterodactyl and Stegosaurus are the long anchors. Dig, Egg and Bone are short and easy to skip, so count your finds before you call it done.
For a follow-up, ask kids to sketch a dig site and place five words from the list in it, from a Fossil in the rock to a Skeleton in a Museum hall.
