About this word search

Rutabaga is called a swede in Britain, and Scallion goes by green onion in many American stores. Samphire, a salty plant from coastal marshes, is the least familiar word here for most home cooks.

Every direction counts, including backwards. Butternut squash and Brussels sprout are long single strings and a good start. Okra and Bok choy are short but each holds a K, which narrows the search. Chickpea and Chili share their first three letters.

Older students could group the list by the part of the plant you eat, such as roots, leaves, stems or seeds. Fennel and Celery are the ones that usually need a second look.
