About this word search

In much of Canada, a Rutabaga is simply called a turnip, even though the two are different plants. Both are on this list, which makes for a good kitchen argument. Bok choy, Kohlrabi and Celeriac are less common, and Samphire, a salty plant that grows by the sea, may be new to most solvers.

Rare letters help in a big grid: the K and Y in Bok choy, the K in Kohlrabi, the V in Fava bean. Words can run in every direction here, including backwards, so check all eight around each start letter.

A good fit for a cooking class or a farmers' market trip. Afterwards, students can pick three unfamiliar vegetables from the list and find out how to cook them.
